What is an explainer?

Exploring the versatility of animation through the use of metalanguage.

An explainer is, broadly speaking, an animated video that synthesizes the most relevant concepts of something to be communicated in a visual way. It is a very popular format since it allows to represent complex and abstract concepts or processes in a way that is direct, quick and aesthetic. It allows to simplify complex ideas, which is ideal for informative content, to explain a service or even to present stories and scenarios in a striking and attractive way.

And to explore the versatility offered by the medium, we have decided to produce an explainer that helps to understand the functions, advantages and virtues of an explainer through the use of metalanguage and formal abstraction.

For this purpose we developed a visual style that is easy to understand and very communicative, resorting to the use of primary colors and geometric primitives, and in which the information is derived not only from the speech and the elements on screen, but also from the contrast of elements, the dramatic implementation of music and sound and the use of visual metalanguage.
